We believe that the first step towards healing is showing up as we are – messy, broken, confused, and hurting. That’s how people came to Jesus. They came paralyzed. They came as prostitutes. They came blind and bleeding; mute and deaf; demon-possessed and desperate.
That’s what our blog is about – coming to Jesus just as we are, telling Him our stories, and listening to Him speak. It’s about believing and asking for His help to overcome our unbelief (Mark 9:24).
Why “Twice Mended”?
- In Christ, we have already been mended (healed, saved). Christ died for our sins, once for all, so we could be made perfect forever and experience abundant life with Him now (1 Peter 3:18; Hebrews 10:10-14).
- However, we continue to “need mending” – physically, spiritually, and emotionally – because we inhabit broken bodies and live in a broken world. This “second mending” – a healing akin to transformation – doesn’t come quickly or without pain. However, we are called to “run with perseverance the race marked out for us” (Hebrews 12:1) knowing that these “light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory” (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).
